Hello from the build log

Why SPEEM has a journal section now, and what to expect here.

2 min read

I'm Wassim. I built SPEEM over two years for my daughters in lycée and started shipping it publicly in 2026.

This is the journal section of speem.app. I'm going to use it to write honestly about:

  • What I'm building and why (or why not)
  • Decisions that didn't work, post-mortems on bugs, things I learned
  • Monthly check-ins with real numbers: installs, conversions, revenue, churn
  • The boring middle of indie dev that nobody usually shares

I'm not running a content business. I'm just trying to build a useful study tool and make a sustainable living from it. Putting the work in public seems like the most honest path through that.

If something here is useful or interesting, the forum is open. If it's not, that's fine too.

The first real post will be about something specific: shipping v2.5.0, hitting a paywall bug in production, fixing it in v2.5.1, and what I'd do differently next time.

💬 Have a question or thought? Talk about it with other students.
